Latest News from the Disney Press Conference

As we all eagerly anticipate the reopening of Disneyland and look forward to walking through those magical gates, there is currently no timeline for the reopening of the parks. However, Disney executives have given us a glimpse into what it will be like once those magical gates open again.

It was confirmed by Patrick Finnegan, the vice president of Disney California Adventure Park and Downtown Disney District, that the Disneyland Resort will use the same reservation model that Walt Disney World has been using since its reopening. As of this moment, the Disneyland website has a section showing the new reservation system that will be used once the Disneyland Resort opens to guests.

Following is the information found in the Disneyland Resort website regarding its reopening:

“The Disneyland Resort will reopen with some important updates to promote physical distancing, including:

Park Reservations: Because theme park capacity will be significantly limited to comply with governmental requirements and promote physical distancing, we will manage attendance through a new theme park reservation system that will require all Guests, including Annual Passholders, to obtain a reservation for park entry in advance. Theme park reservations will be subject to availability. More details about this new reservation system will be available soon.

New Ticket Sales: At this time, we are also temporarily pausing new ticket sales and Annual Passport sales and renewals. Additional details will be provided soon.”

As we saw from WDW, there will more than likely be no park hopping as only one reservation for one park can be made at a time.

Josh D’Amaro, Disney Parks Experience and Products Chairman, is just as eager as we are to see the Disneyland Resort theme parks share its magic with guests once again. He fervently continues to urge the California state officials to provide further guidelines to reopen the Disneyland Resort. As he stated in today’s Disney Parks’ virtual presentation, “We are ready, and more importantly, its time.”

We will share more updates as they become available.
