Disney Stores Across Country are Closing

Disney announced Monday, March 16, 2020 that it would be temporarily closing all of its stores. Now six months later, not all of the Disney stores have reopened, and many will remain closed permanently. The most recent victim of such closures is The Disney Store inside the Oxmoor Center, in Louisville, KY. It was announced it will be permanently closing its doors on Monday, September 28, 2020.

The Oxmoor Center store is not alone in this closing though, as a quick glance at Twitter and other social media outlets today reveals that many cast members and shoppers alike are posting about similar closures.

At this time there have been no confirmed press releases from Disney with a list of such store closures. A search of the shopDisny website found only this blurb available; “We are carefully monitoring the situation in all areas where we have stores. We will continue to make adjustments to our operations as appropriate and look forward to welcoming Guests back as soon as it is advisable.”
