Costs for Genie+, Lightning Lane Soar This Holiday Weekend
After announcing back in October that Genie+ cost would vary based on date and demand, we are seeing it play out this weekend. As one of the busiest weekends of the year at Walt Disney World, Guests hoping to add Genie+ this morning to their park ticket were hit with sticker shock. The cost of the Genie+ service this morning set another record at $29 per person, matching the highest price to date that we also saw earlier this week.
In addition to sky high Genie+ prices, Lightning Lane costs are through the roof as well. As of 9:30 a.m. this morning, Rise of the Resistance at Disney’s Hollywood Studios was $25 per person just to skip the line. In most cases, Lightning Lane allows riders to skip the majority of the line, but there is still a small wait. So, a family of four is looking at $100 just to skip some time in line today.
Over at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Park, Avatar Flight of Passage is seeing another high cost for their Lightning Lane. To skip part of their line, the cost is $16 per person, $64 for a family of four. Since the writing of this article, Lightning Lane passes for Flight of Passage have sold out.
