Battle of the Specialty Drinks

We are in for a taste war. The battle of the specialty drinks; Harry Potter fans versus Star Wars fans. Which drink will come out on top?

I’m talking of course about Butterbeer vs Blue Milk. With Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge opening in 8 days (aaaaahhh) and some very lucky people getting previews of the land and it’s offerings, we have some reviews of the famous blue milk, served first during Star Wars a New Hope movie back in 1977 by Aunt Beru.

Blue and Green milk

Blue milk costs $7.99 and is a coconut and rice based drink with flavors of watermelon, lime, dragonfruit and pineapple. It has the consistency of a smoothie or milkshake and is served at the Milk Stand; But you can also get it at Oga’s Cantina as more of a chilled milk drink. People have said they enjoy Blue Milk very much, some say it might be a bit too sweet but definitely the perfect drink while you explore Batuu. Disney has taken one step further and is offering a Green milk which has a more citrusy taste.

Butterbeer at Hogsmead

Butterbeer is a famous drink consumed by young witches and wizards in the Harry Potter novels and movies. Although it has beer in the name it is actually non alcoholic and Universal Studios has run with the concoction and has made a whole line that not only include frozen and chilled butterbeer but also ice cream, fudge, pot de creme and hot butterbeer. Fans have a lot of different choices with the frozen concoction being most favorite. Grab a cup and explore the shops at Diagon Alley or Hogsmeade

Butterbeer offerings

At $6.99 a cup of frozen butterbeer it comes slightly cheaper from Blue milk. Butterbeer tastes like butterscotch and creamy vanilla soda.

So I think it’s safe to say that the fans will be the victors in this war. Nothing like consuming a tall glass of a drink that is synonymous with Star Wars and Harry Potter while enjoying immersive lands.
