Tokyo Disneyland Switches to Gender Neutral Greeting
Tokyo Disneyland & Tokyo DisneySea have decided to change it’s usual English greeting of “Ladies & Gentlemen, Boys & Girls” to instead say “Hello everyone”. The decision was made so that more guests felt included.
The Tokyo Disney Resort is owned and operated by The Oriental Land Company which licenses Disney’s characters. It and DisneySea are the only Disney theme parks not owned by Disney so no word yet if this will become a widely accepted change for other Disney parks around the world. “The change was made in order for “all guests to continue enjoying their time” at the parks, an Oriental Land spokesperson said.
