“This is Christ-mas” Tim Allen Mentions Religion Will Play Role in ‘The Santa Clauses’ Series
The beloved Movie Franchise ‘The Santa Clause” will be coming back in the form of a Disney+ Original Series, debuting November 19th. Titled ‘The Santa Clauses’, this new Disney Plus series will take a look at life for Tim Allen (Scott Calvin) after retiring from being Santa Claus. “After nearly three decades of being Santa Claus, Scott Calvin’s magic begins to falter. As he struggles to keep up with the demands of the job, Scott discovers a new clause that forces him to re-think his role as Santa and as a father”.
In a recent interview with TheWrap, Tim Allen discussed how important it was that religion be part of the series; “It originally had a lot of otherworldly characters, and ghosts, and goblins. I said no, this is Christ-mas. Its Christ-mas. It literally is a religious holiday,” Allen told TheWrap. “We don’t have to blow trumpets, but I do want you to acknowledge it. That’s what this is about. If you want to get into Santa Claus, you’re gonna have to go back to history, and it’s all about religion”.
