Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground Closes ahead of Tropical Storm Nicole

This evening, Guests at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground were notified that the resort will be closing at 3pm tomorrow, November 9.

A letter was sent out to Guests from General Manager Bill Thompson, that says in part:

“For the safety of our Guests and Cast Members, Guests staying at the campsites either in a tent or an RV, will be required to depart the Resort by 3 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 9.  For assistance in booking alternative accommodations for tomorrow night at another Disney Resort Hotel, please call 407-939-7427.  Guests may choose to temporarily park their RVs at their new Disney Resort hotel, or they may leave their belongings at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground until their return to the campsites.  Should you choose to end your vacation stay, please visit the front desk and check out by 3 p.m. tomorrow, Nov. 9.”

In closing, the letter states they “will welcome guests back to the campsites as soon as possible”, so no date has been given at this time as to when guests who are not checking out are able to return.

As Tropical Storm Nicole gets closer to Central Florida, we will continue to share Walt Disney World operation updates as they become available.
