BREAKING NEWS: Modified Character Meet & Greets Returning Soon To Walt Disney World
Disney Parks Blog just broke the news that some of guests favorite character meet and greet locations are looking to reopen and welcome guests once again. Here’s their official insight:
“Over the past year, beloved Disney Characters have been popping up in cavalcades, motorcades, flotillas, and surprise sightings, much to the delight of our guests, and I’m pleased to tell you many of those experiences will be continuing. Although the environment is not right just yet for hugs and autographs, you’ll soon be able to have individualized time with some of your favorite characters, getting to visit with them in a themed location and snap a photo or two. Look for the Disney Princesses to return to Princess Fairytale Hall in Magic Kingdom Park.
And when you stop in to see Mickey Mouse backstage at Town Square Theater on Main Street, U.S.A., he’ll be sporting his all-new EARidescent look designed just for the Walt Disney World 50th Anniversary Celebration! Each of these locations is planned to start welcoming guests in November.” (Disney Parks Blog)
This is such a welcomed step forward as guests have been begging for meet and greets to return since the reopening of the parks. Although individualized time with the characters is a step forward, these will not be the same experiences that we had grown accustomed to before. Guests will still not be able to hug their beloved characters or get personal autographs from them during this initial reopening.
As noted above, the select locations mentioned that are set to open in November are Town Square Theater (where Tinkerbell and Mickey can usually be found) as well as Princess Fairytale Hall in Fantasyland. This brings into questions if they will continue to try to cycle the princesses or if they will stick to the same few as before and same with Town Square Theater for their respective characters.
In addition, modified meet and greets will also be opened at Red Carpet Dreams (starring Minnie Mouse) and the Animation Courtyard is set to re-welcome their Disney Junior friends (Vampirina, Fancy Nancy, and Doc McStuffins).
Whatever the matter, we’re just glad to hear that meet and greets are set to return in at least some capacity to the parks in the near future and look forward to meeting our favorite characters face to face once again.
Should we come to know more in the future, STM will continue to update you as it is released.
