Avengers Assemble. Marvel-Land Full Steam Ahead at Disneyland Resort
Disneyland has just seen a historic opening of the largest expansion project in it’s history but instead of kicking it at the Cantina while drinking some Blue Milk they are plowing through, full steam ahead in the construction of Marvel-Land.
The city of Anaheim has approved a couple of building permits that include bathroom facilities, a retail outlet, micro-brewery, character meet and greets and overhaul of land. The value according to the permits, so far is $14 million.
We are bound to get more information on Marvel-Land during the fan expo event D-23 later this year. We know the land is currently under construction next to Guardians of the Galaxy Mission Breakout at Disney’s California Adventure. The area being used is the old Bug’s Life land and one of the rumored rides is an attraction featuring Spiderman. The entire project is supposed to open in 2020.
Other Marvel attractions are set to open around the world at Disney Parks. Disneyland Paris is set to open in 2020, Walt Disney World in 2021 and Hong Kong Disney in 2023.
A teaser trailer has been released to add to the excitement
Disney continues to grow and expand on all of their IP’s. Disney acquired Pixar Animation Studios in 2006 for $7.4 billion, followed by the Marvel comic-book empire in 2009 for $4 billion and finally Lucasfilm, the home of the “Star Wars” franchise in 2012 for $4 billion. Solidifying it’s world domination in all areas of entertainment.
