A Snowflake With a Purpose

I am very excited to celebrate, enjoy and share with all of you the holidays at Disney’s Animal Kingdom this week. Not only have they added decorations to Pandora and the Meet and Greets at Dinoland USA, Discovery Island has been transformed into a winter wonderland with animals roaming around and beautiful garlands and music.

But the thing I am most excited to see are the brand new snowflakes. Most of the holiday decor at Walt Disney World comes from the scenic and holiday workshops on property but these snowflakes come from Augusta, Georgia.

Disney commissioned all of the new snowflakes from the Augusta Training Shop, a non profit organization that hires adults with cognitive and physical disabilities, giving them a purpose and most importantly a job when others won’t.
