‘Walt the Dreamer’ Statue Arrives in Florida Ahead of EPCOT Placement

During this years D23 Expo, an exciting new statue honoring Walt Disney was unveiled for Guests.  Guests at the Expo could take selfies with it, much like they can the Roy Disney and Minnie statue at Magic Kingdom Park.  At the time it was announced that the statue would be placed in the World Celebration section of EPCOT.

Today, we are happy to share that the ‘Walt the Dreamer’ statue has made a step closer to EPCOT!  Last night, The Walt Disney Legacy Award Celebration was held at The Contemporary Resort, and ‘Walt the Dreamer’ was in attendance.  Cast Members and Guests were able to see the statue, some for the first time, in Central Florida.

The Walt Disney Legacy Award Celebration honors “less than 1% of  Cast Members across the globe who continue to live out Walt Disney’s legacy of excellence”.  Many notable Disney figures were in attendance, such as WDW Resort President Jeff Vahle, and Disney Parks, Experiences and Products Chairman Josh D’Amaro.

When the statue reaches its final destination, it will be located behind Spaceship Earth in the new Dreamers Point area.  Final placement is expected after this section of EPCOT is completed in 2023.
