Walt Disney World Refurbishment Schedule
Planning a trip to Walt Disney World is considered by some to be an ordeal. Between dinning reservations, booking fast passes, deciding which days to do each park. One thing that can definitely throw a wrench in your plans is that a favorite attraction or store is closed.
We are starting a monthly post on all the refurbishments you can expect for your upcoming visit. Keep in mind that Walt Disney World might decide out of the blue to close a certain attraction for quick tune up, but for the most part they give ample time for you to plan accordingly.
Magic Kingdom:
Walt Disney World Railroad (12/3/18 through unknown) remains closed with no opening date in sight. This is due to the Tron roller coaster construction over at Tomorrowland. The railroad is not expected to make it’s trip around the Magic Kingdom until next year.
Epcot:
O Canada! (8/1 through late 2019) the movie at the Canada pavilion is closing to get a brand new, enhanced film. In the mean time the location will be open for a nice air conditioned venue during the Food and Wine Festival.
Permanently closing at Epcot are Club Cool, Innoventions East, Disney Character Spot (9/8/19) and Electric Umbrella (Winter) for the re imagining of Epcot’s Future World. Other venues are not closing but being relocated .
Illuminations Reflections of Earth will have it’s last performance 9/30/19
Disney’s Hollywood Studios:
Voyage of The Little Mermaid will be dark from 7/17/19 through 7/18/19 and again 7/40/19 through 8/2/19.
Legends of Hollywood, Keystone Clothiers and Mickey’s of Hollywood remain under refurbishment with no announced re-opening date
Super Shindig Incredibles Party is closing permanently 10/01/19
Disney’s Animal Kingdom:
Up! A Great Bird Adventure is dark from 9/8/19 through 9/15/19
Blizzard Beach:
going dark earlier than expected, the water park will be closed for it’s annual refurbishment 9/8/19 through 1/05/20.
Typhoon Lagoon 1/5/20 through 1/17/20
