Update On Disney+ Pricing
Disney+ has been a huge success for the Walt Disney Company. They’re currently approaching 100 million subscribers. This is remarkable considering their initial goal was to reach between 60 & 90 million subscribers by 2024.
With tons of new content like Mandalorian and WandaVision, it was only a matter of time before Disney+ announced a price increase. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming price increase.
Starting March 26th 2021, the price for a Disney+ basic plan will go from $6.99 to $7.99. If you buy a full year in advance, the price will go from $70 to $80. If you’re thinking about buying the bundle, which includes Disney+, Hulu (with ads) & ESPN+ the monthly price will go from $12.99 to $13.99. If you’re getting the bundle that has an ad-free Hulu, the price goes from $18.99 to $19.99.
While price increases are never popular, this is relatively modest & still keeps Disney+ better priced than both Netflix & HBO Max. It will be interesting to see if this has any impact on the explosive growth Disney+ is enjoying in subscribers.
