Orlando Florida- During a presentation to The Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force today, Universal Orlando announced that they would begin a phased reopening of the popular Florida theme park on June 5th 2020. This plan was unanimously approved by the Task force, and now requires approval from the Governor.
The phased reopening plans include the use of masks, social distancing markers, temperature checks and other CDC guidelines. The parks will begin operating at limited capacity.
Universal has been on the forefront of Orange County’s Corona Virus reopening process. They were the first to reopen CityWalk, its shopping and dining district, where visitors are required to follow the same guidelines proposed for the parks reopening -such as masks and temperature checks. They are also the first of the three major Orlando theme Parks to announce reopening plans for their popular theme parks Universal Studios Orlando, Islands of Adventure and Volcano Bay.
At this time Walt Disney World and SeaWorld theme parks still have yet to present plans to the The Orange County Economic Recovery Task Force.
