‘Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’ Wins Award at this years IAAPA Expo

Since opening in March of this year, the ‘Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’ has changed the game at Walt Disney World.  With its super immersive experience, Guests enjoy a once in a lifetime two-night stay where they join the story.  With missions at Batuu at ‘Star Wars: Galaxys Edge’, and an ending duel that rivals the films, it is no surprise that the ‘Galactic Starcruiser’ has become a dream destination for Star Wars fans young and old.

Now, the ‘Galactic Starcruiser’ has been recognized by not only Disney fans, but at this years IAAPA Expo!  ‘Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser’ received a Thea Award for Outstanding Achievement!  As shared on Disney Parks Blog, the ‘Galactic Starcruiser’ is “the most immersive Star Wars experience ever created with the integration of physical, digital, and live entertainment elements into one cohesive story”.  Josh D’Amaro, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Products, is also thrilled with this accolade, sharing awards “illustrate our legacy of innovations”.

IAAPA, or the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, is a yearly Expo for the attractions industry.  According to the IAAPA website, members “have access to global Expos and conferences that spread successful business best practices for amusement parks and attractions”.  Industry professionals from all over the world were in attendance at this years Expo in Orlando.
