Red Car Trolley News Boys Show Coming to an End at Disney’s California Adventure

Extra, extra! After a seven year run the Red Car Trolley News Boys show is coming to an end on July 23rd. Due to the work for Marvel-land the red trolley had to be dropped from the show but it continued performing even as the titular Red Car Trolley started a lengthy refurbishment in April (that will last into 2020), the absence of the trolley has reportedly impacted the number of guests watching the show. In a statement, officials of the development, “Based on viewership trends and the needs of our business, we have closed the show,” adding, “Without the trolley, the show just didn’t offer the same value to guests.”

This is sad news for fans of this show and of Newsies one of the most underrated movies and a hit Musical from Disney.

Another entertainment offering being impacted by low viewership is Tale of the Lion King show that debuted last month. It will see a reduction in dancers featured in the show after July 21st. And will be closed on September 2nd.

No replacement shows for either one has been announced.
