No Tricks Just Treats: Halloween Season at Disney World 2020

According to Jessica Figueroa of the Worldwide Leader of Disney Parks News, “the reopening of Disneyland Resort in California remains stalled with hotel cancelations now through October 24.”  Even though this is depressing news, Disney World Resort in Florida has been open since mid-July and they have recently extended park hours. It won’t be too long until the parks will be back to full capacity and longer lines.

So mask up and go enjoy the magic of Disney. Wondering if it will be worth it to go during the Halloween this year?  Disney officials have canceled Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party. They also have not decided on Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom or the Epcot International Festival of the Holidays.

Although there is no Halloween Party, you still have the pleasure of enjoying spectacular festive displays and treats as you visit your favorite attractions. During the Halloween season, some attractions have cool, unusual special effects. For instance, Mad Tea Party has special lighting effects and spooky music and Pirates of the Caribbean has actual live pirates inside the attraction.

There will be great photo ops with amazing carved Mickey Mouse pumpkins, so don’t forget to put the kiddos in costumes. A couple quick service restaurants in Magic Kingdom are getting into the Halloween spirit by serving specials. At Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn, you can feel the heat with Hades Nachos, which are black bean nacho chips with “fiery” buffalo chicken, lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa, and jalapeños.

If you are in the mood for a burger, Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Café is serving Mckey Monster Mash Burger with Meunster cheese, potato barrels, bacon, and sriracha aïoli.

You’d not be craving Halloween candy after trying out Disney’s fall treats at your favorite parks:
