Disney has shared that they will be using the Virtual Queue system for in-park guests looking for some May the Fourth merchandise. As noted on the Disney website, here are the details on the virtual queue:

  • A virtual queue is in place at the May the 4th Merchandise Event at Stage 1 Company Store (the currently closed Muppets retail location, that is opening for this event).
  • Guests will need to use the My Disney Experience app to attend this event. A standby queue will not be available. Each Guest can request to enter the virtual queue no more than once per day during regular park hours.
  • You must have valid admission and a theme park reservation to join the virtual queue. You can request to join the virtual queue for the May the 4th Merchandise Event starting at 7:00 AM. (Guests do not need to be in the park when they join but must have a theme park reservation for Disney’s Hollywood Studios.)

The big takeaway is that there is not going to be a standby line, and you can only enter the queue once per day. If you’re hoping to grab some of the Star Wars Day merchandise, make sure you’re logged into your My Disney Experience App to grab a spot in the queue!

Not planning on attending any in park events this May the 4th? Fortunately, shopDisney has you covered! Many of the items available for Star Wars Day are also available online, so be sure to check that out if you’re looking for merchandise for this event.
