Longtime Disney fan Neil Patrick Harris was seen at EPCOT this weekend, as the honorary narrator for EPCOT’s Candlelight Processional. Harris has been a Guest favorite narrator for the EPCOT Holiday tradition, having been a narrator every year for the last several years. He is someone that Guests look forward to seeing each year, and he is reliably always on the schedule of invited celebrities.
During his weekend as narrator, Harris made a joke at the expense of none other than disgraced CEO of The Walt Disney Company, Bob Chapek. Chapek was fired from The Walt Disney Company back in November, sending shock waves through the company. As someone who clearly follows the news, Harris made his feelings regarding Chapek very clear during his first few minutes on stage this weekend.
In his opening remarks welcoming Guests to the Candlelight Processional, Harris touches on the acronym for EPCOT. In his remarks, he makes a dig at Chapek, stating that he is “pretty sure the C doesn’t stand for Chapek”. See the clip below, shared by @RopeDropLife on Twitter:
We don’t hear the audience reaction in this clip, but we would expect that the joke was welcomed with laughter and applause. It’s safe to say, Neil Patrick Harris is no fan of Bob Chapek!
Next weekend, we have a new narrator at the Candlelight Processional. Mariska Hargitay, from the long running TV series ‘Law and Order: SUV’, is scheduled to narrate December 19-20. We will have to see if she has any comments for Bob Chapek.
Have you seen the Candlelight Processional? What celebrity would you like to see narrate the evening? Let us know!
