Moana Theme Coming to Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort

Earlier today it was announced that Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort would not reopen until summer 2021 and this delay was due to a lengthy refurbishment. At the time no details of the refurbishment were released.

However now according to the Orlando Sentinel while the resort is under refurbishment Disney will be retheming the Great Ceremonial House and guest rooms with Moana!

“Changes to the rooms will include a move to a Pacific Ocean-inspired color palette as well as details, patterns, and textures from Disney’s “Moana,” that takes place on the Polynesian island of Motunui.”

Since the DVC Villas and Bungalows will remain open throughout the Polynesian’s refurbishment, it is unlikely that they will be receiving the Moana retheming.

The Polynesian opened with Walt Disney World in 1971. It’s located on the Seven Seas Lagoon and on the monorail line that serves Magic Kingdom theme park. It is categorized as a “deluxe” Disney hotel.

No other details on the Moana retheming of the Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort have been released at this time.
