Leave a Legacy Removal Starts at Epcot
As posted months ago the Leave a Legacy Monolith Stones have started to be removed and sent to another place outside of the park for the new reimagining of the Epcot entrance.
They will be doing this in phases as to not conflict too much with the guests entrance and exit from the park. They have started with the right side of the entrance and then move to the left. You can now see construction walls blocking a significant part of the walkway.
The Leave a Legacy program started in 1999, and was a chance for guests to leave a permanent picture of themselves at Epcot, guest returning would have a key number to find their photo. At least there is good news as they are apparently not destroying the stones, as the are doing with Walk Around the World program at magic Kingdom, and are just placing them elsewhere.
Once completed the Epcot entrance will evoke a more open, green filled area ready to welcome guests and the ill nicknamed “headstones” will be gone.
