Island H2O Live! Grand Opening
Today, the first day of Summer, we were invited to join the celebration of the Grand Opening of Island H2O Live! the newest water park in the Central Florida area, located in the heart of the all new Margaritaville Resort complex in Kissimmee Florida. Our streamer Beth was there for the opening ceremony, you can rewatch here.
“Island H2O Live! is a new wave of waterpark,” said Art Falcone, co-founder and managing principal of Encore Capital Management. “Our guests will have the opportunity to create their own in-park experience with customizable themes and playlists while on our attractions, all while sharing these moments across their social media channels.”
“We have an incredible variety of attractions at Island H2O Live! including water coasters, family raft rides, a wave pool, lazy river, kid-friendly experiences and more,” said Island H2O Live! general manager, Jim Kunau. “The real star of this park is the ability to share your experience. The addition of this social media interaction allows your experience to go beyond the water park walls and encourage others to join in on the fun.”
Island H2O Live’s! proprietary technology creates a unique experience to be shared across a variety of social channels. Upon arrival, guests will be given an RFID Smart Band which allows them to engage their social network through the H2O Live! app. Guests are encouraged to download the app before they arrive, so they are ready to create their profile and manage their entire experience upon arrival. If guests do not have smartphones, there are tech stations throughout the park where they can simply tap their Smart Band to set up their profile, select slide color themes & music playlists, earn park perk points, find friends and more.
Our streamer Beth was able to enjoy a day at the water park and here are her impressions.
The food was good, affordable prices and very tasty. She had the Mediterranean wrap with chips. The refillable cup came in handy, all day refills for $7.99.
After trying all of the slides Beth says, “they were all really fun, it’s a small park so everything is relatively close so not a lot of walking”. They allow use of go pro and phones on all slides they just have to be secured to your body.
The app they are using is called H2OLive! and you can create a profile at home and link a credit card. Once inside the park you link your band (provided at the entrance) to the app. There are still some bugs in the system but they reassured that everything should be up and running smoothly real soon. When it does you will have a chance to pick a color and music while going down 2 of their slides. They also have selfie stations and places to record quick messages.
