Iger’s Restructuring Continues with Another Executive’s Departure
Another top executive is out at The Walt Disney Company.
As reported by Variety earlier today, Heather Hust Rivera, the Senior VP of Communications at Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED), is leaving the company after 17 years. In a statement to Variety, Rivera shared the following statement: “I’m grateful for the incredible opportunities I have had in the past 17 years at Disney, working across multiple businesses with some of the industry’s hardest working, most talented, and amazingly creative people”. She also wished her team “nothing but the best”, and that she “looks forward to what the next chapter holds”.
Her exit from The Walt Disney Company comes as no surprise to those familiar with her role in the company. Rivera has spent her last years at Disney serving under none other than Kareem Daniel as Chief Communications Representative. As we shared earlier, Kareem Daniel was let go at The Walt Disney Company on Bob Iger’s first day back as CEO of The Walt Disney Company.
This departure has us wondering, is Rivera leaving on her own, or is she being forced out as part of Iger’s company restructuring plans? Who else does Iger plan to remove as part of company restructuring? Only time will tell what comes next.
