Gov. DeSantis of Florida confirms Presumptive Positive Cases of the Coronavirus

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis confirmed Sunday that two people in the state of Florida are the first to test “presumptively positive” for the coronavirus as he ordered health officials to declare a public health emergency surrounding the global spread of the coronavirus.

All Florida theme parks including Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Orlando Resort remain open at this time but are obviously on alert. A statement released by DeSantis’s office said the cases involve a person in Manatee County and another in Hillsborough County. Manatee County is in the Tampa area, about 2 hour drive to Orlando, Hillsborough County is also in the Tampa area, about 1.5 hours from Orlando.
