As part of the re-imagining of Epcot we will say goodbye to a couple of venues, some have been with the park since it’s beginning and others have been more recent additions.
Along with work, already completed, on the removal of the Leave a Legacy stones, this weekend we will see the following closures:
After park close on Saturday, Sept. 7, a wall will be installed on the back side of Innoventions East on the pathway near the coffee cart. This will mark the closure of Innoventions East. old Communicore that was home to a variety of interactive elements and attractions.
Saturday, Sept. 7 will be the final day of operation and Sunday, Sept. 8 will be the first day of downtime for the following locations:
- Fountain View with Starbucks and Club Cool will close with elements set to return in the future.
- At Innoventions East, Colortopia will finish its run.
- Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Goofy will move from their current home in Character Spot and temporarily relocate across the breezeway to Character Spot North.
Sunday, Sept. 8 will be the final day of operation for the Fountain of Nations. This fountain as been at Epcot since park opening, when children from all around the world brought canisters with waters from different rivers to fill the fountain as a symbol of global unity.
A wall will be installed around Character Spot, Fountain View, Fountain of Nations and Club Cool beginning overnight on Sunday, Sept. 8 into Monday, Sept. 9. We will have to see what the new walkways back and forth in Future World will look like.
