Everything we Know about Disney+
On September 2017 Disney made a shocking announcement that they were creating a streaming platform to compete against Netflix, Disney+ is now only months away from becoming live on November 12th and offering it’s service at the low price of $6.99 a month it is sure to shatter some records in it’s first year.
Thankfully the folks at Morgan Stanley did the math for us and projected this month that Disney Plus could have 13 million subscribers by the end of 2020, and 50 million subscribers across all of its online video services, which include Disney Plus, Hulu, and ESPN Plus. By 2024, the analyst projected that Disney Plus could have more than 130 million subscribers.
Around 7000 episodes of television series and 400 to 500 movies will be available when Disney+ launches making it a one stop shop for any and all Disney fans. But remember that Disney is a multi-conglomerate company that not only includes the house the mouse built but also Star Wars, Marvel and Pixar with the focus being on family friendly entertainment. No TV shows or movies rated over the PG13 category will be streamed but will be deferred to Hulu as is the case of Marvel’s Deadpool.
Along with almost the entire Walt Disney movie collection we will also see original titles from Marvel ( series based on Hawkeye, Falcon and Winter Soldier, and Scarlet Witch and the Vision. A series following The Avengers villain Loki, with the original MCU actors reprising their roles for the shows. ) Star Wars ( live-action series The Mandalorian and a still-untitled series following Rebel spy Cassian Andor, with Rogue One actor Diego Luna reprising his role from that film. ) The must awaited and anticipated final season of Star Wars The Clone Wars. And in a shocking surprise, all episodes of the Fox series The Simpsons.
We will get more information on this exciting streaming service during the D23 Fan Expo Disney+ panel happening in Anaheim on August 24th where we will get a sneak peek at the Lady and the Tramp, High School Musical The Series, The Mandalorian, and many more.
I for one cannot wait to re-watch all of those classic Disney films and also all the original content coming from Marvel and Star Wars. Are you subscribing come November?
