Disney Studios halts production on ‘The Little Mermaid,’ postponed Premiere of Mulan & more
The CoronaVirus has negatively impacted just about every industry you can think of including the film industry.
Disney Studios has just announced that it will suspended production on the live action remake of Little Mermaid & will postpone the premiere of the live action remake of Mulan.
“While there have been no confirmed cases of COVID-19 on our productions, after considering the current environment and the best interests of our cast and crew, we have made the decision to pause production on some of our live-action films for a short time,” a Disney studio rep said Friday in a statement. “We will continue to assess the situation and restart as soon as feasible.”
More Disney films in production/pre-production that are delayed include “Home Alone,” “The Last Duel”, “Nightmare Alley”, “Peter Pan & Wendy” and “Shrunk”.
Many other studios have made similar announcements about their respective properties.
