Disney Files Permit to Connect Grand Floridian Resort to the Magic Kingdom
If you are familiar with Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and the Magic Kingdom you have probably seen an unfinished walkway, cut by the water canal that transports the barges for the Electrical Water Pageant every night. Ever since the Grand Floridian Resort opened on June 28th 1988, there have been plans to connect it to Magic Kingdom via a walkway but for some reason this project was never finished.
We now know that Disney has filed a permit to make this path a reality. The permit was filed July 5th. In an official statement from Disney they say “This walking path from Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa will give our Walt Disney World Resort hotel Guests another convenient way to reach Magic Kingdom Park.”
At this time we don’t know when the path will be completed but once it does it will be possible to walk all the way from the Ticket and Transportation Center to Magic Kingdom if one chooses to do so. Also this is great news for guests staying at both the Polynesian Resort and Grand Floridian Resort as it gives another option to and from the park.
