Disney Cancels the College Program Amid Coronavirus Threat

In a surprising move, Walt Disney World sent their hundreds of College Program participants an email saying that they were cancelling most of the College Programs.

Programs canceled are Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program, Disney Cultural Exchange Program and Disney Academic Exchange Program.

The participants have been told they need to leave their housing facilities by March 18th at 11am. They will be paid for the next two weeks and waived housing fees.

UPDATE March 15th

Cultural Representatives College Program have been allowed to stay if they choose, these are the Cast Members that you see in the countries around World Showcase. They will be paid during the closure time and will have to pay for their housing as usual.

The College Program as a whole is expected to resume for their May semester. Cast Members who have been terminated during the current semester may reapply to come back.
