Disney Announces Closure of Walkway Between Magic Kingdom and Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort

Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa is currently undergoing a massive refurbishment of Guest rooms and buildings. Currently, there are several buildings that are involved in renovations, and select others such as Big Pine Key have completed work.

As a result of the current state of ongoing work at the Resort, Disney has announced a temporary closure of the walkway between Magic Kingdom and the Grand Floridian Resort. To ensure Guest safety as construction continues, the walkway will close February 13, 2023. At this time, there is no scheduled reopening date, although it is expected to reopen sometime in late Spring.

Guests looking to travel to Magic Kingdom will still have access to the monorail and resort boats.

As part of the ongoing renovations at Grand Floridian, it was announced that the iconic main building lobby will start refurbishment later in 2023.
