Walt Disney World has sent a series of emails out to guests today, one of which addresses the cancellation of Dining reservations and Disney Dining Plans.
Within the email guests were notified that they are going to see the dining reservations, currently in their My Disney Experience, be cancelled. If they had a Disney Dining Plan, they would be receiving a credit or refund for its value.
These guests will also have priority access to rebook dining experiences once the new reservation system is up and running. These reservations would be available for booking 60 days prior to a guests arrival vs. the previous 180 days. Walt Disney World stated it would be sending further details at a later date on how the new system would function.
Also within the email, was the following statement
“As a result of physical distancing, capacity in restaurants and availability of dining experiences is very limited and certain experiences such as Character dining cannot be provided.”
Confirming what a lot of people have speculated- Walt Disney World will not be providing character dining upon reopening.
More details on dining experiences are to be revealed in the coming days as the new reservation system is implemented. Stay tuned to Streaming the Magic for all the details.
