BREAKING: Spaceship Earth To Reopen with EPCOT on July 15th! Refurbishment Postponed Indefinitely!

We can all thank the Phoenicians!

Despite having its status recently updated to “Closed for Refurbishment” on the Walt Disney World website and on the My Disney Experience app- it seems Spaceship Earth may make its ascent once again on July 15th, when EPCOT has its reopening!

According to the UNITE HERE Local 362 union, which represents attraction workers throughout Walt Disney World- Spaceship Earth’s refurbishment has been pushed back indefinitely. The information was revealed during an web conference and subsequently hit social media platforms.

As per the web conference- The reimagining was set to begin on May 26th and has been postponed indefinitely. The overhaul will be so thorough that it will require the ride to close at minimum for two years- that would bring us to the second half of 2022, possibly into 2023, or even further given the closure setbacks. It’s also unknown whether the full set of changes will be implemented given the current state of Walt Disney World.

Stay tuned to Streaming the Magic for more information as it unfolds regarding Epcot’s opening on July 15th and the pending renovations to SpaceShip Earth.
