Blue’s Clue’s Returning to Nickelodeon

Everyone’s favorite polka dotted blue dog is coming back. Blue’s Clue’s is returning to Nickelodeon in November with all new name, all new adventures and and all new host.

Josh with Magenta and Blue

Blue’s Clue’s and You is returning with all the familiar characters, Blue, Magenta, Tickity Tock, Shovel and Pail, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper, Mailbox, Slippery Soap; but a brand new face as the host, his name is Joshua (Josh) Dela Cruz. Josh might look familiar to the Aladdin on Broadway fans, he was the understudy for the tile role, he also has appeared on several shows including Here Lies Love and Encores: Merrily we Roll and T.V. shows Bull and Time After Time.

Blue’s Clue’s premiered on Nickelodeon in 1996 with host Steve (played by Steve Burns), and it became and instant kids favorite, Blue would leave clue’s spread out through the half hour show to allow the host to find out what Blue wanted to do that day. When Steve left the show his brother Joe took over (played by Donovan Patton). Now Steve Burns actual took part in the casting of the new show’s host and says : ” I give Josh two thumbs up! He can definitely fill my shoes, and the rugby shirt.”

Cathy Galeota, Nickelodeon Group’s Senior Vice President of Preschool Content said “From the moment we decided to make a new version of the series, we knew that so much of the energy and magic of the show comes from the host’s ability to bring preschoolers into the colorfully animated world of Blue and her friends,”. Josh’s wonderful theater background and his natural charisma checked all the boxes for us, and of course Steve’s stamp of approval only solidified our decision.”

Blue’s Clue’s and You will have an updated animation look, of course and probably the most distinguishable difference from the original show is that the host, Josh, is wearing a blue striped long sleeve shirt as opposed to the now famous green striped shirt worn by Steve.
