Baby White Rhino Birth Announced At Animal Kingdom

credit: Chip & Company

There’s a brand new baby white rhino that will soon be roaming the safari land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom park. Mom, Jao, gave birth to a beautiful calf, the newest rhino to join the herd. Details are still to be unveiled about the calfs weight and gender. White Rhinos are currently still endangered species so this is a very celebrated birth for Jao and the conservationists at the Disney parks.

While we are thrilled that this little one is finally here, guests may see a delay in being able to see the calf up close soon. This is to allow mom and baby time to bond backstage as they learn each other.

Don’t worry though, if you had your heart set on seeing a baby animal on your next visit, it’s also worth noting that Disney’s Animal Kingdom park has also welcomed a baby hippo, zebra, girraffe, and gorilla.
